The Studio
Katie Townsend Garden Design is a small design studio in Edinburgh. Working on a broad range of projects from courtyard gardens to small city gardens, and larger spaces, we cover Edinburgh, Glasgow and East and West Lothian. We also offer virtual design services throughout the UK.
Offering innovative designs for our clients, our goal is transforming your outdoor space into a beautiful, elegant and functional garden and extension to your home.
Taking a genuine interest in you and your needs is key to the success of any project and being able to interpret your requirements and bring this to life in a garden, is what we do best.
We also work closely with a team of trusted landscapers to expertly build your garden and bring the design to reality.
Meet Katie
The studio is led by Katie and was set up in early 2020. Prior to her career in garden design, Katie spent 18 years in business design and project management roles in financial services.
Inspired by her parents, aunt, grandparents and great grandparents, Katie has always been a keen gardener and has dabbled in garden design most of her adult life until she was lucky enough to take the leap in 2020.
Katie’s own garden and gardening style is focused on sustainability and creating as many opportunities for wildlife to flourish as possible. These values are central to her design work too.
Katie lives in Edinburgh with her 2 teen boys and dog Snoopy.
